RSF publishes list of press freedom 'predators': 'Dictators want to silence journalists'

Eve Irvine is pleased to welcome Thibaut Bruttin, Director General and Secretary-General of Reporters Without Borders (RSF), who says, “When a journalist is killed, it is everyone's right to know what is being endangered.” His warning captures the central democratic dilemma explored in this interview marking the United Nations' International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. As journalists confront lethal violence, imprisonment, political intimidation and increasingly hostile working environments, the struggle for press freedom has become inseparable from a more fundamental question: who controls the public's access to truth? For RSF, press freedom is not simply a journalist's right to speak, but society's right to know.  #Journalism #RSF #UN 🔔 Subscribe to France 24 now: https://f24.my/YTen 🔴 LIVE - Watch FRANCE 24 English 24/7 here: https://f24.my/YTliveEN 🌍 Read the latest International News and Top Stories: https://www.france24.com/en/ Like us on Facebook: https://f24.my/FBen Follow us on X: https://f24.my/Xen Bluesky: https://f24.my/BSen and Threads: https://f24.my/THen Browse the news in pictures on Instagram: https://f24.my/IGen Discover our TikTok videos: https://f24.my/TKen Get the latest top stories on Telegram: https://f24.my/TGen
